Kids Don't Want a Dime, They Want Your Time

When I talk to parents,
I often hear the same things:
“I’m so busy”,
“I’m so stressed”,
“I’m so tired”.

I get it.
Been there, done that,
Sometimes, still do it.
Expectations are high AF today.

We want a career.
Nice salary.
Kids.
Fun.
Fit body.
Hobby.
Great relationship.
Purpose.
Juicy sex.
And oh yeah, don’t forget:
ME-TIME!

And so to have it all,
There’s no time left.

Of course, the money’s nice,
But our sons and daughters pay the price.

So we spoil them,
Buy them things,
To keep them entertained.

But it’s bullshit..
Cause a child doesn’t want a dime.
They just want your time.

So stop trying to prove yourself out there,
while they’re waiting for you in here.

Choose presence over frickin' performance.

Because they’ll remember your face,
not your paycheck.
